Lotus appoints Daytona as sole importer and distributor for performance car sales and service in South Africa
Johannesburg, South Africa – 10 February 2021 – High-performance sports car manufacturer Lotus has appointed Daytona as its new retailer in South Africa.
The showroom is situated in the premium Johannesburg shopping precinct of Melrose Arch, and a market debut for the latest Lotus model – the all-electric Evija hypercar – will form the centrepiece of the opening celebrations.
The Evija is the first electrified car from Lotus and a bold statement of intent about the company’s future plans. The thrilling next chapter of one of the greatest automotive stories ever told, the Lotus Evija continues a rich 72-year tradition of iconic and game-changing road and racing cars.
The world-class 4000sqm showroom and 4000sqm workshop, with coffee bar, client lounges and private meetings rooms, is testament to Daytona’s commitment and dedication to offering its clients more than just a car showroom. It is a way of life, which is why Lotus has selected this prime dealership as its new home in South Africa.
Justin Divaris, CEO of Daytona (sole importers of Aston Martin, McLaren, Pagani & Rolls-Royce), commented: “Being appointed as the new sole distributor for this prestigious brand, a brand well-known and loved by South Africans, is truly exciting. We strongly believe that Lotus will complement our current brand mix and offering to our clients and we look forward to what the future holds for this partnership.”
Geoff Dowding, Executive Director, Sales and Aftersales, Lotus, added: “We’re delighted to be working with the Daytona team in South Africa. Lotus has always enjoyed strong support in this market, and the new Lotus sales and service centre in Melrose Arch is a wonderful addition to our global network of retailers.”
